2011 CLASH: DADUWAL ACQUITTED

Sikh religious preacher and parallel jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib, Balit Singh Daduwal, was acquitted in 2011 clash case by additional session judge Rajeev Kumar Beri here on Monday.

A case was registered against the religious preacher following an alleged clash between Baba Daduwal’s supporters and the police during a religious discourse at a police station in Bhikhi here. Randhir Singh and Harjinder Singh were also acquitted in the same case.

Harinder Pal Tiwana, cousel of Daduwal, said that the court acquitted him as charges did not stand against him. In December, 2018, he was acquitted in 2014 Arms Act case. The case was lodged against him in after police claimed to have recovered live cartridges from his vehicle. Daduwal said, “I was framed in false cases by the then ruling government in Punjab, SAD.”
