NEW IDEAS NEEDED

-

This refers to Shashi Shekhar’s article ‘Little voter enthusiasm this election’ (HT May 13). It’s true that 2019 elections have become synonymous with mega rallies and road shows with film actors and cricketers blowing kisses and mouthing catchy dialogues to entice voters. But these antics have nothing to do with policies which can prove to be the panacea for our perennial problems. Our leaders, therefore, need to brainstorm for ideas to cope with our intractable issues if they want to win elections. This time a low percentage of votes in the national capital is the Khan Market gang’s warning to our rulers to perform or perish. Tarsem Singh, Mahilpur
