Haryana recorded 70.34% turnout

Haryana joint chief elec­toral of­fi­cer Dr In­der Jeet on Tues­day said 70.34 % vot­ing was recorded in the May 12 polling in the state.

The polling per­cent­age of male vot­ers was 71 and fe­male vot­ers 69.61.

He said the Sirsa par­lia­men­tary con­stituency recorded the max­i­mum vot­ing with 75.97 % and Kar­nal recorded the low­est 68.35 %.

Among other seats, 74.32 % vot­ing was recorded in Ku­ruk­shetra, 72.37% in Hisar, 71.12% in Am­bala, 70.57% in Ro­htak, 70.96% in Sonepat, 70.49% in Bhi­waniMa­hen­der­garh, 67.36% in Gu­ru­gram and 64.12% in Farid­abad.

Mean­while, women vot­ers out­num­bered male elec­tors in Nar­wana assem­bly seg­ment of the Sirsa.

Ac­cord­ing to vot­ing fig­ures 72.47% women vot­ers ex­er­cised their fran­chise against 71.42% male elec­tors in Nar­wana. Nar­wana has 1.11 lakh male and 94,542 fe­male vot­ers. HTC
