MODI’S MAY 17 LUDHIANA RALLY CANCELLED
LUDHIANA : In a major setback for the campaign of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally, which was expected to be held in Ludhiana on May 17, has been called off.
The local units of SAD and BJP cited the dilly-dallying of the district administration and bad weather as the reasons behind the cancellation of PM’s visit. Administration officials said all permissions were given on merit.
Grewal said, “The permission was deliberately delayed at the behest of the Congress, as they were scared of the Modi wave across the state. Initially, the DC said the administration had no objection as long as the college did not have any problem, but the college authorities referred them back to the DC, and later backed off citing .” He said the administration delayed nod for GLADA ground near Vardhaman factory, which led to a cancellation. DC Pradeep Agrawal said no such schedule was received by them and denied allegations. HTC
