BOY INJURED IN KARNAL CLASH SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES

A 14-year-old boy, who was injured in a group clash in Karnal district on Monday, succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Wednesday.

Police said Nikhil Kumar suffered head injuries during the clash between two groups in Sanghoi village of Karnal district on Monday evening. He was rushed to a private hospital at Karnal, where he died during the treatment on Wednesday, the police added.

The police have booked 17 people under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for their alleged involvement in the clash. Karnal deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Rajiv Chaudhary said charges under the Section 302 (murder) of the IPC had been added in the FIR after the death of Nikhil.

Efforts were being made to arrest all accused, he added.

Chaudhary said the body of the deceased was handed over to the family after the postmortem examination.
