-

A truck laden with empty metal trunks was asked to return after it reached near the strongroom set up to store sealed EVMs at the Girls’ High School at Bhodia Khera village in Fatehabad district of Sirsa parliamentary constituency in Haryana on Tuesday.

After noticing the vehicle, Congress leaders suspected it to be an attempt to tamper with EVMs and informed party candidate Ashok Tanwar and deputy commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata.

When Khadgata, superintendent of police Vijay Pratap Singh and DSP Subhash Chander reached there and asked the driver to show the required permit to enter the election area. When the driver could not furnish any document, Khadgata asked the truck to return to avoid any misunderstanding..

Meanwhile, BJP’s Sirsa candidate Sunita Duggal alleged that Tanwar had directed his party workers to stay near the counting centre and set on fire an any unknown vehicle moving near the strongroom. HTC
