USE BALLOT WITH CONSCIOUSNESS

-

We all must be conscious individuals to participate in a truly democratic process. But many people cast their vote en masse and not as individuals. We no longer consider the merits and demerits of party policies, before taking a stand. We oppose or support policies depending on whether they are formulated by one party or the other. Our ability to make an independent and intelligent decision is the cornerstone of democracy. We talk of voting beyond barriers of religion and caste but party has become the new religion. If you vote as a family, caste or religious group, it means you are not thinking for yourself. It is tragic. When groups vote en masse, it is feudalism disguised as democracy.
