5-MINUTE SQUALL AND FULL-DAY OUTAGE
Our political leaders speak highly of technological progress and economic development. But a five-minute thunderstorm or 30 minutes of rain results in power breakdown. Everything comes to a standstill –government offices, banks, hospitals, educational institutions, industry, small business and so on. Electricity poles are often uprooted, wires are disconnected or mangled. For these failures, neither electricity boards nor their employees are held responsible. What kind of progress have we made? The boards and departments concerned should at least make it weatherproof.
