SIT to probe death of KAS officer

: A special investigat­ion team(SIT) has been constitute­d to probe the death of KAS officer Sushil Attri, whose body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in Sainik Colony area of the city on Tuesday.

Attri, a 2004-batch Kashmir Administra­tive Services (KAS) officer, was posted as deputy director, integrated child developmen­t services (ICDS), social welfare, Jammu.

The SIT headed by SP (Jammu South) Vinay Sharma will carry out a probe on the circumstan­ces leading to the death of Sushil.

As per sources, Sushil neither attended any phone call on Tuesday, nor came out of his flat. Around 4pm, a courier had come to deliver some item at his flat,

but there was no response, it has been learnt. The delivery man then informed the security guard, who further alerted society’s officers-bearers, the sources said.

Police did not find any suicide note during the search of Attri’s flat. As per the informatio­n, the KAS officer had rented the flat recently and was living alone there. His family resides at their house in Kunjwani area of the city. On Wednesday, a board of four doctors conducted the autopsy, reports of which are awaited.
