YAMUNANAGAR: A 27-year-old woman was stabbed to death at her in-laws’ residence in Jagadhri’s posh New Jain Colony, in Yamunanagar district on Thursday. The incident occurred around noon when the victim, identified as Rozi, was alone at home with her six-month-old son.

Rozi is the daughter-in-law of Rajender Sikka, a known businessman of Yamunanagar and owner of Bhagwati Stone Crushers at Chuharpur village.

Police said the crime spot, smeared with patches of blood, shows that Rozi had struggled with her murderer who brutally stabbed her all over. Meanwhile, her son is safe and the family’s belongings were also found intact.

According to the police, Rajender and his son Dipanshu had left home for their stone crushing unit at around noon on Thursday. Close to 2 pm, when their servant Rajesh Kumar arrived at the house and got no response upon ringing the doorbell, he jumped the wall at the owner’s behest to check the house. When he came upon the crime scene, he informed his owner who called the police.

Yamunanagar superintendent of police (SP) Kuldeep Singh, DSP Jagadhri Sudhir Taneja, CIA detective staff and crime team of the district police reached the spot for inspection. Her body was sent for inspection and post-mortem. Police also searched the apartment in the neighbourhood given by Rajender to the servant Rajesh.

As per sources, Rozi married Dipanshu in 2018. Along with their 6 month old son, they lived with Rajender Sikka in New Jain Colony. Jagadhri SHO inspector Rakesh Kumar said, “We have registered a case of murder to start the investigation and initiated proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC.”
