FOR CONG, SONIA GANDHI IS ABOVE BHARAT MATA: KHATTAR

-

KARNAL : Haryana chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday slammed the Congress leaders for comparing party president Sonia Gandhi with Bharat Mata.

“There is a big difference between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. We say Bharat mata ki jai but Congress leaders say Sonia mata ki jai,” he said, referring to a video in which a Congress leader from Gurugram was heard chanting ‘Sonia Gandhi ki jai’.

Addressing one rally each in Pehowa, Radaur, Jagadhri and Yamunanagar, Khattar said there was a pro- incumbency wave in the state as his government had worked without any discrimination.

“There is no doubt that the BJP will form the next government here but we need to increase the number of seats and victory margin in every assembly segment,” said Khattar at his rally in Radaur.

Urging people to give him yet another term, Khattar said, “For the first two years of our term, our government was mending the problems created by the previous government. In the last three years, we worked for the development of Haryana. We formed the last government on promises. The next government will be on achievements.”

He slammed the previous chief ministers for naming educational institutes after their fathers and said the BJP will not do any such work.

Khattar also tried to pacify the workers of sitting Radaur MLA Sham Singh Rana, who was denied party ticket, saying that the credit for work done in Radaur goes to Sham Singh and he will be given due respect in the party and the next BJP government.
