3kg heroin recovered along Pak border in Fazilka, one arrested
Police also seize ₹2 lakh drug money from a house taken on rent by the accused in Jalalabad

The Jalandhar commissionerate police arrested a drug peddler from Wadala Chowk here and recovered three kg heroin buried at his land along the India-Pakistan border in Fazilka district on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Charanjeet Singh, 26, of Gatti Mattad village in Ferozepur district, who has done mechanical engineering from Jalalabad.
The police also recovered ₹2 lakh drug money from a house taken on rent by the accused near Devi Dwar temple in Jalalabad.
Commissioner of police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the accused revealed that he and his father had established contact with Pakistani smugglers who supplied them drug consignments from across the border.
The accused told the police that the orders for drugs were placed through WhatsApp after which it was delivered by Pakistani smugglers on the land adjoining their land in Fazilka.
“Charanjeet further revealed that one kg heroin was ordered by his father Makhan Singh, who was arrested last month. Two kg heroin was delivered to him on Dussehra night,” Bhullar said.
He said two drug peddlers, Karanveer Singh and Vikram Singh, were arrested with one kg heroin on September 9.
They had revealed that they used to purchase the drug from Makhan Singh and his son Charanjeet.
Makhan was arrested on September 11 by the Jalandhar police, which recovered one kg of heroin, 30 cartridges and drug money worth Rs 6.5 lakh from his possession.
