AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has offered to the Pakistan government to repair Gurdwara Nanaksar Sahib associated to Sikhism founder Guru Nanak. The historic gurdwara is situated at Chakk Fateh Bhinder village in Daska tehsil of Sialkot district.

In a letter, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur also urged the Pakistan government to pay attention towards the maintenance of the gurdwara. She said it has come to her notice through media reports that the roof of the gurdwara was breaking down. “The sentiments of sangat (devotees) are attached with the shrines associated with the Gurus, therefore it is important to pay special attention towards the maintenance of these buildings,” she said.

“If the Pakistan government has any difficulty in repairing or rebuilding the Sikh shrine, the service of the gurdwara should be handed over to the SGPC which is ready to do voluntary service of this place,: she said in the letter.
