Good tidings

The news of considering marks of Class 10 and preboards for the CBSE Class 12 final result is good tidings. It seems to be a small first step towards reforming the examination system which is so result-conscious and marks-centric that it is a major factor in keeping our learners overstressed. The joy of learning and pleasure of communicating with the youngsters is usually absent or lost. The fear of ‘finality’ of the Class 12 examination is at the core of the cheating problem and so many other issues which have reduced the board examinations to an industry.
