Switching loyalties

This is with reference to the editorial ‘From WB, a lesson in political mobilisation’ (June 15, 2021). It seems that switching of loyalties by leaders of almost all political parties have become order of the day. The latest example is of Mukul Roy, an accused in a financial crime, who first joined the BJP and now he is back in the Trinamool Congress. Appointment of Suvendu Adhikari as the leader of the opposition in the assembly perhaps made Roy to take this decision. It is apparent that welfare of the common man is the last on their agenda.
