Sharath Kamal to get Khel Ratna

Table tennis legend Achanta Sharath Kamal will receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, the country’s highest sporting honour, from President Droupadi Murmu on November 30 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, the ministry of youth affairs and sports on Monday. While Sharath is the lone Khel Ratna award recipient, a total of 25 athletes including shuttlers Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy, woman boxer Nikhat Zareen, athletes Eldhose Paul, Avinash Sable, Bhakti Pradip Kulkarni and R Praggnanandhaa for Chess, hockey player Deep Grace Ekka, Shushila Devi for Judo, Sakshi Kumari for Kabaddi, Nayan Moni Saikia for Lawn Bowl, Sagar Kailas Ovhalkar for Mallakhamb, shooters Elavenil Valarivan and Omprakash Mitharval, Sreeja Akula for Table Tennis, weightlifter Vikas Thakur, and wrestlers Anshu and Sarita have been nominated for the Arjuna Award this year.
