Child labour still a bane of India

-

On this day (November 14), we should introspect whether we have brought smiles to children’s faces. There is no dearth of laws to see the children spend singing and dancing on this day. It is shameful that minor children are working in factories dealing in hazardous jobs. Children in the age group of 10 are working in factories under inhuman conditions. Many are not provided food, some are tortured, and some are sexually abused. This is shameful for India. This brings to my mind the poem ‘The Cry of Children’ by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. It is a wake-up call for the heartless society which denies innocent children their basic rights.
