BODY, OR BODY PARTS These are the most crucial pieces of evidence to incontrovertibly establish Walkar’s death. The police have recovered bones, which are to be sent for a DNA analysis. However, even if the DNA of the bones match with samples provided by Walkar’s father Vikas, this will only prove that she is dead.

WEAPON The police have so far been unable to recover the heavy and sharp object allegedly used to chop up the body. Poonawala told the police that he threw it into the bushes behind Dhan Mill in Chhattarpur.

REFRIGERATOR Walkar’s body parts were kept in the refrigerator for at least three months, according to the police. However, forensic officials said that they were unable to collect any evidence from the refrigerator, which has now been kept at the Mehrauli police station.

BACKPACK Poonawala claims to have used a backpack to carry and dispose of body parts. However, he has told the police that he discarded the backpack in August, shortly after he got rid of the last body part.

VICTIM’S PHONE Police are yet to recover Walkar’s phone. While call data records and the location of her cell phone show that she was in touch with Poonawala until she went missing, this too is only circumstantial evidence.

THE VICTIM AND ACCUSED’S BLOODSTAINED CLOTHES Poonawala allegedly managed to dispose of the bloodstained clothes. In fact, when the police visited the two-room house, they allegedly found that he had got rid of Walkar’s possessions too.
