1 BADRI

Identified only by his single name, Badri is a mutual friend of the couple. Shraddha Walkar and Aaftab Poonawala met him in Himachal Pradesh, where they were on holiday until May 11. Police probe shows that Badri is the last person who met the couple.

2 RAJENDRA KUMAR

Kumar rented the flat to the couple for ₹9,000 a month in Chhattarpu­r. Kumar has also said that after Poonawala moved in, the water consumptio­n went up unusually. He said he ran up a water bill of ₹300 which was surprising, since most residents in the building ended up using less than 20KL water, which is free.

3 SUDEEP SACHDEVA

Sachdeva runs Home and Kitchen store in Chhattarpu­r. Poonawala has told the police that he bought the weapon used to hack Walkar’s body from Sachdeva’s store. Sachdeva has told the police that he does not remember Poonawala visiting the shop.

4 LAKSHMAN NADAR

Nadar is a close friend of Walkar and he was the first person who alerted her father that the victim’s phone had been switched off since June. Following this, Walkar’s father lodged a missing person’s report in September at a Mumbai police station. He has said that the couple had a strained relationsh­ip.

5 TILAK RAJ

Raj is the owner of Tilak Electronic­s, and has confirmed to the police that Poonawala had bought a refrigerat­or from his shop on May 19, a day after Walkar was murdered. Poonawala used the same fridge to store the body parts of Walkar. Raj said he came, looked around his shop, and purchased a large refrigerat­or.

6 DR ANIL SINGH

The doctor said Poonawala visited his clinic in May to get a knife wound on his arm treated. Kumar said he found Poonawala aggressive but did not find anything odd.
