'Eat Right' campaign launched for students

Schools are being inspected as part of the ‘Eat Right’ campaign to ensure that students are receiving clean and nutritious food. Students are taught about health hazards of consuming junk food through seminars. They being encouraged to consume less salt, sugar and oil and to focus solely on nutritious foods.

To prevent malnutriti­on in children, the FSSAI runs a programme under which it was asked to sell the milk, edible oil, rice, flour and salt only after fortificat­ion with vitamins and minerals and F Plus logo is must on such packs. For the survey, samples of milk and

milk products, edible oil, honey, fruits and vegetables, and so on were collected in order to prevent food adulterati­on
