WOMAN’S BODY FOUND IN SUITCASE IN MATHURA
AGRA: Mathura Police on Friday found the body of a woman stuffed inside a suitcase lying near the Yamuna Expressway, an officer said, adding that she had a bullet wound on her chest.
Mathura’s senior superintendent of police, Abhishek Yadav, said efforts were on to identify the woman, who appears to be in her 20s.
“The body was found wrapped in a polythene and inside a bag near the expressway,” said Yadav.
He added that there were injuries and bloodstains on the woman’s face.
“Forensic experts and a dog squad were called... and efforts are being made to identify the body,” he said.
Raya police station in-charge, Om Hari Vajpayee, said the matter had been recorded. “We have done the legal compliance required in such cases and the dead body has been sent for post-mortem” he said.
According to an officer privy to the matter, police also found a sacred black thread and a saree in the bag and a red sacred thread tied to one of the woman’s wrists.
