In the game of one-upmanship and show of individual strength, farm bodies of Punjab, which have been divided into five sub-groups, are raking up their own agenda beyond the common demands such as MSP on all crops, compensati­on for loss to crops due to vagaries of weather, withdrawal of cases against farmers who took part in the protest on Delhi borders and jobs and compensati­on for kin of farmers who died during the year-long stir

FARM ORGANISATI­ON: BKU-EKTA-UGRAHAN

Led by: Joginder S Ugrahan

Demand: Fearing threat from radicals, the farm organisati­on has sought at least 150 arms licences for its activists for self-defence.

Protest plan: It will take part in a protest march from Mohali towards Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh on November 26.

FARM ORGANISATI­ON: BKU (DAKAUNDA)

Led by: Jagmohan Singh

Demand: Making minimum support price (MSP) on all crops a legal binding on the Centre.

Protest plan: The organisati­on has given a call to all farm bodies in Punjab to take part in a march towards the Raj Bhawan on November 26.

FARM ORGANISATI­ON: BKU EKTA-SIDHUPUR

Led by: Jagjit S Dallewal

Demand: The farm body has given a charter of 41 demands to the state government, including annulment of red entries in the land record of farmers who had set paddy stubble ablaze.

Protest plan: The organisati­on decided to suspend its agitation till March 31 after assurance from government.

FARM ORGANISATI­ON: BKU (CHARUNI)

Led by: Gurnam Singh Charuni

Demand: The Haryana-based farm organisati­on is seeking farm debt waiver among other demands.

Protest plan: The organisati­on plans to hold long-term protests across the state.

FARM ORGANISATI­ON: BKU (RAJEWAL)

Led by: Balbir Singh Rajewal

Demand: To make stricter laws for conservati­on of river, canal and subsoil water.

Protest plan: To start a march from Mohali towards Chandigarh on December 30 and squat at places where police stops them.
