Rapper-singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has had a very interesting journey in Bollywood, with his songs topping the charts, and live shows going housefull.

However, the rapper disappeared from the music industry around 2014. He later revealed that he’d taken the break because he was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder.

Now, sources say that the rapper-singer has been approached by several filmmakers, who want to make a film on his life. A source says, “After real-life stories of popular personalities like cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and actor Sanjay Dutt, it seems the story of Honey’s life has captivated filmmakers. He has been approached by a couple of directors over the past year. In fact, they’ve been in talks with Honey’s team for more than six months.”

Honey has become one of world’s top artists, and has fans across the globe. He saw success with the song Gabru from his 2011 album, International Villager, but shot to fame after his song Angrezi Beat was featured in the Bollywood movie, Cocktail (2012). He later delivered hits such as Lungi Dance, Blue Eyes, Desi Kalaakar, High Heels and Dheere Dheere.

“The film will showcase his story, his struggle, his entry into the music industry, the ups and downs in his life, including the fact that he had been suffering from bipolar disorder,” adds the source. Honey Singh was not available for comment.
