What goes on in Bhatt family’s WhatsApp group

Actor Alia Bhatt never hesitates to talk about the close bond she shares with her family — dad, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt; mom, actor Soni Razdan; sister Shaheen; and halfsiblings, actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt and actor Rahul Bhatt. Like most people, the Bhatts also have a family WhatsApp group, and they gave us a sneak peek into one of the chats on it.

During a joint chat with the father-daughter duo (Mahesh and Alia), Mahesh mentioned that “there’s life beyond movies.” Alia seemed surprised that her father was saying that. The 24-year-old went on to share a recent conversation [on the chatting app] between her, Pooja and their father.

“Really? You are saying that [there’s life beyond movies], dad (smiles). You are repeating Pooja’s (Bhatt) words,” said Alia, adding that Rahul recently put up a picture on the family group.

“My brother was looking superb in the picture. So, I commented, ‘Wow Sunny, you are looking so good’. But dad wrote, ‘Wow, we must cast Sunny in an interesting film’. So, Pooja said, ‘Papa, there’s life beyond movies’. So, I am sure that he (Mahesh) doesn’t believe that [there’s life beyond movies],” said Alia.

Her father responded with a smile: “Inhale life, exhale cinema.”
