If you are out the whole day in this scorching heat, it ends up damaging your skin. A splash of face toner is not just refreshing, but can help tighten your pores, remove impurities and tanning, while also maintaining the pH balance of the skin. If you have oily skin or acne-prone skin, you must use a toner after cleansing your face.

Before you head to the market to pick a toner off the shelf, you must know that most of those products have alcohol and salicylic acid that leave the skin dry and patchy. Fret not! As always, you can count on us for DIY ideas.

So, here are five toners you can make at home, and use daily to tighten the pores, and in turn, avoid blackheads

and whiteheads. The liquid ones can be transferred into a tiny spray bottle for use on the go.

Baking soda power: A toner that cleanses and takes care of your acne problem. Take one spoon of baking soda and mix it in one cup of water. Make sure you shake it well, and use it only on problem areas.

Watermelon goodness: This one is rich in vitamins. Take one tablespoon of watermelon juice and one tablespoon of distilled water. Mix and shake well before using it.

Soothing lavender: Perfect for oily skin, as it bleaches out oiliness on the surface. Take half cup of water and add ten drops of lavender essential oil, six drops of sandalwood essential oil and five drops of tea tree essential oil. Mix well and use. Spray this on your face before

hitting the bed for a good night’s sleep. Tomato juice and honey

magic: Extract the juice of a tomato and mix with organic honey in equal proportions. Make a thick paste and apply on your face for 15 minutes. It’s one of the best homemade toners for oily skin. Lemon juice, tea and

hazelnut delight: Dip a bag of green tea in a cup of boiling water and let it brew. Green tea is rich in anti-oxidants. It delays aging, protects the skin from UV rays, improves skin tone, and reduces acne. Now, add one tablespoon lemon juice and two tablespoons of hazelnut powder. Mix well and allow it to cool down. Using a cotton pad, apply this toning paste on the face and neck. After it dries, rinse with water.
