- Juhi Chakraborty

TV actor Gaurav Chopra feels that the restrictions on TV severely limit small screen content in India, which is also the reason behind the shift towards the web medium.

“On TV, you can hold a whiskey glass but not drink it, and you can hold a cigarette but not smoke it. You can’t see reality the way it is,” Gaurav says, adding, “Sometimes, the purpose of entertainment is to make a statement, to raise a question. If a platform does not give you the liberty to speak out, what’s the point?”

However, Gaurav feels that misusing the online platform is uncalled for. “The web space has given creative freedom to a lot of filmmakers. But then, many misuse freedom,” he remarks. The actor believes that even with so many options available in the web space, the TV industry should not feel threatened, rather learn from the former. Gaurav is part of a web-series titled Fourplay. The series is adapted from a longrunning play of the same name. The actor plays a casanova
