‘I’m emotionally attached to Mom’

Her 300th cinematic rendezvous was the hard hitting, performance driven drama — Mom, which was directed by Ravi Udyawar. But for Sridevi it’s now more than just a project. When the film was up for release, the actor had said that the film was special to her and she could relate to it as she, too, is a mother to two daughters. And now, after winning the award for Outstanding Performance of the Year at an awards function in Dubai, UAE, she is over the moon.

Talking about it, Sridevi says, “It’s a huge honour for me to receive this award. It was exciting to be in the presence of some immensely talented stars. Mom is a film that I’m very emotionally attached to and this award makes my memories with the film even more special. I’d like to thank my fans for their constant love and support through the course of my career and to everyone who voted and found me worthy of this award. I approach every film like a newcomer and every award I receive always feels like my first.”

A source reveals, “The Awards show that was held a couple of days back saw quite a few Bollywood actors travel to Dubai. Sridevi walked away with one of the biggest awards of the night at the show that honours the incredible triumph of the Asian community in the UAE. It was even more special as it was a people’s choice award and Sridevi topped the poll with majority votes from fans across the UAE.”
