Isha Talwar’s onstage tribute to Sridevi

- Yashika Mathur

Actor Isha Talwar, who was last seen in the film Kaalakaandi is ecstatic that she would be able to pay tribute to late actor Sridevi at a concert in Dubai, today. Isha has an old connection with Sridevi and that is another reason she feels blessed to have got an opportunity like this.

“I remember in 8th standard when my father was an executive producer on the famous TV show Hamari Bahu Malini Iyer and I expressed my desire to be on the technical side of the show’s shoot. That show marked the beginning of Sridevi’s foray into television. I did not even want to be an actor then, but watching her seamlessly flow in front of the camera was such joy,” recalls Isha.

As part of her tribute to the late legend, Isha will be performing on Sridevi’s hit track Naino Mein Sapna and will share the stage with choreographer Prabhudeva. “As a child who gawked at her (Sridevi) with starry eyes, it’s going to be exciting as well as nostalgic. The moment the song played at the rehearsal studio, the rewind button came on in my head and I saw flashes of my childhood and how far I’ve come,” shares an excited Isha.

Isha even went on to meet Sridevi when she was about to begin her own acting journey. “Years later, when I chose to be an actor, Dad and I went to her house and I touched her feet and sought blessings. I’ll always remember her persona of a fine performer and the spirit of it giving it all when in front of the camera,” she says.
