Actors often talk about that one character that they would like to portray on screen. When Sehban Azim was about that one character, he expressed his desire to play the role of Swami from the popular TV show Malgudi Days, based on the book by RK Narayan.

“Among all the shows that I have watched, I enjoyed Malgudi Days the most. Such a wonderful show, and it not just helped us learn but also laugh. The young boy who played Swami was a fabulous actor. Given a chance I would have loved to play this 12-year-old,” says the actor, known for shows such as Humsafars and Thapki Pyaar Ki.

Sehban, who started his journey in 2010 with Dill Mill Gayye, adds that getting to play such roles are like a boon for an artist. “Characters like Swami help you learn and grow. As far as I’m concerned I feel blessed to have had a dream run in the industry, for the opportunity to explore characters, both positive and negative, and receiving love from the audience,” he says, adding that he feels romance is his forte. “The kind of shows I have done, my characters are usually seen romancing someone. Even my fans have also told me that they like me doing such roles. So, it feels good. But at the same time, I won’t stop myself from exploring characters that are different. Taking risks is something I prefer doing or else I would never be able to find out what more I can do,” he shares.
