Sangram Singh’s musical outing

International wrestling champion and actor Sangram Singh will soon be seen in a new avatar. The wrestler has appeared in television shows such as Bigg Boss, Survivor India, India’s Deadliest Road and Nach Baliye, and will soon star in a music video.

“It has been exciting to shoot this international music video. We shot a love story co-starring a model from Ukraine. I had to learn to play the guitar, and I was surprised I did that within a week,” says Sangram. The song has been composed and performed by Pakistani sufi-pop band, Raeth, and its video was shot in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The song will be released in Hindi, English, Russian and Spanish.

Sangram is also shooting for a film on the life of wrestler Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav, who was the first Indian to win an Olympic medal after independence. The actor has been working out to shed weight for the Shyam Benegaldirected film, and he is glad about his leaner look in the music video. “I am not looking like myself in the video, which surprised me. When I heard the song, I knew I was going to do it. This is the first music video I have ever done and I enjoyed myself. I was surprised to find myself at ease with the love story theme of the video, but I had to work hard to look at ease (laughs),” he says.
