IT’S A LADIES SPECIAL!
After working with Meghna Gulzar and Zoya Akhtar, Alia Bhatt confirms she’s doing a ‘fun’ film with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari
Alia Bhatt is on a roll, and that’s quite clear from the box office success and high praise that she is getting for Raazi. However, one feather in her cap has gone by largely unnoticed – Alia has been working with female directors on an almost back-toback basis. After Meghna Gulzar directed her in Raazi, the actor recently wrapped up her work on Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. And now, Alia confirms that she is set to work with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
She says, “I am definitely going to do a film with Ashwiny because she is a fabulous director. The film is sort of confirmed, but I am not saying it myself, as there will be an official announcement soon. They [Ashwiny and the film’s makers] have brought an extremely fun concept to me. I am very excited, as that’s going to be my breakaway film from all the serious ones [that I am doing]. Ab main ek lighthearted film karne waali hun.”
At 25, Alia is one of the most successful actors in Bollywood. Ask her how satisfying that is, and Alia says, “Satisfaction comes from things that you do. So, I am satisfied with a lot of things that I am doing. I work very hard, and that makes me angry, irritated, tired and even sleep-deprived, but it gives me satisfaction. Plus, I am very happy with the kind of people I am working with.”
The actor says she is “leading a very colourful life”. She adds, “My life is a mixture of greys, blacks, blues and pinks. So, right now, I am covering all the spectrum of colour. But yes, some days are grey, while others are yellow, and that’s the way life is. But I am really happy with the stuff that I am doing.”
