While you may have gorged on scrumptious delicacies served during the holy month of Ramzan, we believe you also need to decide what you will be wearing for the various Eid parties to come. Ahead of Eid al-Fitr (June 15), fashion designer Mayyur Girotra suggests that one could channel the old-world glamour by reviving the vintage elegance with a bold dose of modern feminity. “Stick to traditional Mughal motifs but in embellishments of nude tones and recreate the looks of a demure quaint bride of the bygone era. This look is a perfect amalgamation of current and the past,” adds Girotra.

You could also give your attire the luxury of intricate and soft hand embroidery on traditional handloom fabrics in contemporary refined cuts. “Sharara pants in metallic gold brocade, structured kurtis and kalidaar jackets in handwoven textiles with heritage, and organza dupattas will provide comfort while retaining elegance and grace,” says fashion designer Shweta Agarwal.

Colour is an integral part of any attire you opt for. Eid festivities are mostly synonymous with the colour green and fashion designer Neha Gupta is of the opinion that green is a perfect choice as it resonates prosperity and abundance. “It’s not just a mere religious emblem. It stands for purity and celebrates the sheer serenity of Islam,” says Gupta.

So this Eid, revisit and relive the regal grandeur of ancient India. Bring out the brocades, traditional silhouettes and vintage embellishments for festive dressing.
