Modern Family cast member Winter, who had known Odell for several years and worked with him on an episode of the hit show, paid tribute to the late actor in a post on Twitter.

“Devastated to hear about the passing of Jackson Odell. I knew Jackson since we were 12 years old, and he even appeared in an episode of ‘Modern Family,’” she wrote.

“We didn’t talk much as we entered into our high school years, but I’m glad I got to spend time with him before his end. Very hard for me to hear about anyone passing away, but someone so young really saddens me. Sending love to his family and friends,” Winter added.

The Goldbergs cast member Charlie DePew also paid tribute to Odell on Twitter: “RIP Jackson Odell. I’m so happy that I got to know you. You were a true talent and an even truer person.”

Odell also appeared on shows such as Arrested Development and iCarly. He was also a songwriter who had contributed original songs to the soundtrack of the romantic drama Forever My Girl. A family statement has said: “He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul.” ctor Mahie Gill isn’t the kind to give frequent interviews and talk about herself a lot. But when she does, she’s an open book. Set to return to full-fledged roles with her much-loved character Madhvi Devi, in the third instalment of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster franchise after a cameo in the dacoit drama Phamous, Mahie admits that not being in the limelight constantly does have its own downside.

“But at the same time, I don’t want to be there in the newspapers every day. There are many people who are all over the place but not doing any work, and I definitely don’t want to be like that. I am a very shy person. I am not hungry for publicity,” says Mahie, asserting that she would want to give interviews only when she is doing something “creative and nice”.

The actor, who has been a part of films such as Khoya Khoya Chand (2007), Dev.D (2008), and Paan Singh Tomar (2012), goes on to share that despite so many friends advising her to hire a PR agency, she just doesn’t know how to go about it.

“I’m told that you must do it because you need to be in news and people need to know you are there and working. But my problem is that I don’t know what to speak. What should I tell them — that I went for a holiday or I enjoyed shopping? I can’t do that. That’s not my personality,” says Mahie, though adding that she hopes it changes with time.

Calling herself “highly confused”, the 42-year-old says that when it comes to the ongoing culture of constantly updating fans on their whereabouts and upcoming projects, she is a “misfit” there, too.

“I am not very good at social media things. Mujhe aaj bhi Instagram use karna nahin aata. I’m so bad at all that. I’m not on Twitter and it was only recently that I got that verified blue tick on my Facebook page. I don’t know what to write or speak [online]. I think it’s not for me. I am a very private person. I like it that way, and want to be out in the open when my work is there,” maintains Mahie.
