What’s Madhavan obsessed with?

RMadhavan is all set to play Nambi Narayanan — the brilliant mind behind Indian Space Research Organisati­on’s (ISRO) ambitious project of making India numero uno in the space satellite field, in his upcoming film, Rocketry — The Nambi Effect. Interestin­gly, he will also co-direct the biopic with filmmaker Ananth Mahadevan.

Recently, the teaser of the movie was launched in four languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English — in the presence of Nambi Narayanan himself. “It’s a matter of great honour for us to be able to tell Mr Nambi Narayanan’s story to the world. We can’t wait to tell it and we can’t wait for you all to hear it. We are truly overwhelme­d with the terrific response to the teaser and the posters. I’m looking forward to getting into the garb of Mr Narayanan,” he says.

“This film has become an obsession for me... I am sure that 95% of the country’s population doesn’t know about him which, I think, is a crime,” adds the actor.

At the launch, the Indian scientist and aerospace engineer was also invited. “Mr Narayanan was present along with his family at this special event. He got emotional while speaking about his story and thefilm. Madhavan showed a hotograph of arayanan from the tter’s college days, hich overwhelme­d e audience,” says a urce.

In 1994, the scientist as falsely charged with pionage and arrested. owever, in 1996, entral Bureau of vestigatio­n (CBI) smissed the charges. nd, in 1998, the upreme Court declared m “not guilty”.
