I’m a shy guy, but now I have a PR too, says Sunny Singh

- Rishabh Suri

Actor Sunny Singh, whose popularity climbed after the hit film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, has his hands full with projects. While one film is with Vikrant Massey, the other one, Jai Mata Di, is in the early stages of production.

While a leading role in a hit film is a big deal for any actor, Sunny doesn’t believe in capitalising on one hit, nor will he allow himself to become complacent. “When you are on a film set, you give your hundred per cent. I’m a shy guy, I’m not too visible, but thankfully, now I have a PR too.

What I believe in is quality; I don’t go totally [crazy over something]. If I have to wait for a movie, I will wait. It should be quality work,” says Sunny.

He adds, however, that he has to keep up with changing trends. “I want my work to do the talking, but everybody is there in the news.

I’m in my own zone of finishing one film and starting another one,” adds the actor, who debuted in a leading role with Luv Ranjan’s Akaash Vaani (2013).

Sunny says that Luv, who also directed him in Sonu Ke..., is the only person for whom he’d do a film without reading the script. He says, “With Luv sir, there’s no criteria as such. He’s the one who decides. Whatever he says, I’m all set to go on set and do it. For movies from other production houses, I look at the script and then rely on my instinct.”
