Diddy pays tribute to Kim Porter

Actor Willem Dafoe, who plays acclaimed artist Vincent van Gogh in At Eternity’s Gate, says that the character came across as a more hopeful person, contrary to what has been written about him in history. The 63-year-old actor portrays the 19th century Dutch Post-Impressionist painter in the Julian Schnabel’s feature and like most of the people, he also considered the artist a “tortured soul”.

“He felt like he was painting in a new way. One of the things that changed for me in making this movie was the joyous part of him that we don’t see. He’s usually depicted as the poster boy for the tortured artists, but I would definitely say he’s a hopeful character. History lies!” he told The Guardian in an interview.

The Florida Project actor believes flexibility is an essentiality for an artist to explore different realms of art. “Otherwise, corruption sets in. You get stuck in certain patterns, and a certain kind of performing language that keeps you from a kind of sense of discovery or danger or mystery,” he added.

Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has posted a video in tribute to Kim Porter, his ex-girlfriend and mother of three of his children.

The 47-year-old model was found dead in her Los Angeles home last week. Her death remains under investigation.

Thanking friends and loved ones who had attended a ‘homegoing’ gathering for her, he shared a heartwarming old video of her dancing, on Twitter. “She loved to dance,” the 49-year-old wrote alongside the video. “Thank you to everybody for your prayers and support. God is the greatest. He woke you up to see another day. Please don’t take it for granted. Let’s go people!!!” He added, “For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t.”

Diddy aka Sean John Combs began dating Kim Porter back in the 1990s, and their son, Christian Casey Combs, was born in 1998. The couple welcomed twin girls, D’Lila Star and Jessie James Combs, in 2006.

In 1999, Porter and Combs split for the first time. In 2003, after dating singer Jennifer Lopez for two years, Diddy reconciled with Porter. In 2007, the couple called it quits for the final time.
