Rajshri doesn’t let success get to her
Actor Rajshri Deshpande has had an amazing year with accolades coming her way for her roles in the web series Sacred Games and film Manto.
The actor, who garnered attention for her role in Pan Nalin’s Angry Indian Goddesses (2015), says that she is happy to see the way her career has taken a turn but she is not letting success get to her head.
The actor feels that she has a long way to go and wants to continue to do roles that challenge her.
“I just keep myself normal. Like theek hai accha kaam hua to hua, par abhi bahut karna hai,” shares Rajshri. She goes on, “As an artist, I want to keep doing good work. I don’t want to bore myself. I don’t want to get high on my success.
I don’t want to go into an over-confident zone where I am [or become] comfortable. [I feel] an artist has to be always on his/her toes. That’s what keeps him/her alive.”
She further adds, “There is so much to learn, so much to achieve and so much to do...I am grateful and thankful to everyone who loved [watching my work].”
So often it is seen that success changes the way filmmakers and colleagues look at an actor. Ask her if it is the same case with her, and Rajshri answers in the affirmative: “Of course, I see that change...But that’s normal human nature. We all have to prove ourselves to reach to that level where people will look at you differently. It is a journey that we all have to go through. It takes time for people to see you in such a way and put you in the character’s shoes.”
She further adds, “I am working with sensible directors, who want me to be different and not a fantasy character.”
