Tulsi hails folk music with garhwali song
Singer Tulsi Kumar, who has just released a Garhwali folk song called Ta Chuma, feels that folk music takes people back to the roots of Indian culture.
The Paniyon Sa and Wajah Tum Ho singer has crooned the track along with Jubin Nautiyal, who hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It has been composed by Aditya Dev. Ta Chuma, originally, is a popular Garhwali song, composed and penned by prominent folk singer Narendra Singh Negi.
“I feel extremely proud to be a part of this series. Folk music takes us back to the roots of our culture. With Ta Chuma, which is a Garhwali folk song, I feel that there will be a strong connect that people will feel, and they will get closer to folk music,” Tulsi said.
The new version is a part of a music series called ElectroFolk and it features in the second episode of this series.
The singer adds, “I feel that this [series] is a great platform to showcase folk music and bring it back to the culture of India.”
