Actor Freddy Daruwala has played a baddie in most of his films ever since he made his debut in 2014’s Holiday and he says he is aware of the fact there is a possibility of getting typecast.

“I do get similar casting. I do fear that I will get typecast but I hope that I don’t. Luckily, the content is changing and brilliant scripts are being written. In the ’90s and early 2000, there was a strict demarcation between a hero and a villain in films but it is not the same anymore I feel,” shares Freddy.

The actor, who has starred in films such as Commando (2017) and Race 3 (2018), further says, “I am getting a lot of positive roles now, which is a positive sign. I hope it continues.”

But despite the whole typecast debate, Freddy will not put a blanket ban on antagonist roles. “I am open to playing a villain, [provided I have] more to prove as an actor. If there is a parallel lead opportunity in that scenario, then why not?”

Freddy also forayed into regional cinema last year with Gujarati film Suryansh and Telegu film Touch Chesi Chudu. He says he wants to entertain the audiences at the end of the day and will grab every opportunity that comes his way in order to do that. “I am an actor. Language is just a medium. These regions also watch Hind films. So it is a great way to build a fanbase there so that it helps my Hindi films as well,” he concludes.
