Sona speaks up against hypocrisy

Singer Sona Mohapatra tweeted about her views on how art and music have no boundaries: “Industry takes Nusrat (Fateh Ali Khan) Saab’s songs to recreate in every album and India will listen to him and his songs sung by every other singer but the soldiers-on-the-border card will come up if I say that art and music have no boundaries. My dad was in the forces for 35 years.” She said after a user called her “petty and narrowminded” for not recognising the sacrifice of Indian soldiers. She added: “Pakistan as a state has oppressed and wiped out their minorities. Their own artists aren’t safe too. Amjad Sabri the Sufi Qawwal among others who spread the message of love have been (sic) brutally murdered in broad daylight. India cannot become like that.”
