Friends of the actor’s daughter didn’t believe he was Pankaj Tripathi the actor — until she made him meet them!

Pankaj Tripathi’s daughter Aashi is super happy with the kind of fame her father has earned, and also the films he has been a part of. The 12-year-old is often asked about her father’s upcoming work by her school friends and their families. And as he talks about how she reacts to his popularity, the ever humble Pankaj says that her smiling face makes his day.

“She gets quite excited at times but then she knows how to handle things,” Pankaj says, adding that spending time with his daughter is one thing that he “does not want to miss out on at any cost”. While his work commitments keep him occupied a lot these days, the actor makes sure to take out time to go for holidays and to cook delicious food at home — which is something that the Stree (2018) actor is known to often do.

“I enjoy cooking and it’s something that gives me immense satisfaction. Aur jab bhi mujhe time milta hai, main subah se shaam tak ka khaana banata hoon,” says the Mirzapur (2018) actor, adding that both Aashi and his wife, Mridula, enjoy what he cooks.

Asked how it is like to be daughter to a star father, Aashi seconds what her dad has said. However, she is quick to reveal how, at first, her friends at school did not believe that her father was Pankaj Tripathi the actor. And she finally had to request him to meet her friends once.

“After meeting him, my friends were like ‘wow’ and they’ve been telling me that they want to meet him again,” Aashi recalls.

“I’m very happy and proud of him. He is calm and understanding, and manages to do so many things. It feels great when people say nice things about him,” she gushes.

On whether she plans to arrange for another meeting between her father and her friends, Aashi says that will happen only if her father “agrees and has time”.

She (my daughter) gets quite excited at times but then she knows how to handle things... [Spending time with her is one thing] I do not want to miss out on, at any cost.
