Severe seafood allergy landed Sonu Nigam in ICU

Singer Sonu Nigam recently faced a lifethreatening situation and had to be admitted to the ICU. It all started after he had seafood at a restaurant in Mumbai and developed an allergy on Monday.

“It was a terrible seafood allergy attack three nights ago, and I had to be admitted to the emergency ward in Nanavati Hospital. My eyes were swollen and there were rashes on my body. I vomited, too. But I got better and performed in Jeypore, Orissa, day before yesterday (Tuesday). My voice is going to take some time to heal though,” he says.

He posted two pictures on Instagram. In one he can be seen lying with an oxygen mask, in another with his eye swollen. “…My trachea would have swollen up further and led to asphyxiation,” his post said.

Recently, Sonu and his family ran into the Gandhis, in Goa. The families happened to be staying at the same resort and had breakfast together.
