TV is giving me everything I craved for: Ansh

Having shared screen space with popular stars such as Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in ads, actor Ansh Bagri has learned that when you are a superstar, you need to be grounded. Besides ads, he made his film debut with Days of Tafree (2016), which failed to make a mark. Since films were taking time, Ansh didn’t mind taking up work on TV.

“I used to think TV is a very boring thing to do, and with same character, you’ve to do the same thing everyday, and I won’t be able to do it. But when I did India’s Next Superstar and the kind of love I received, it gave me clarity,” says Ansh, who’s playing the lead in an ongoing show.

Asked if failure of his film made him take up TV offers, he says, “Not at all. Films were taking a lot of time, and in between few projects didn’t work out, so I decided to do TV. I was anyway getting a lot of offers. In fact, I ended up turning down a film offer because of my TV show.”

Does that mean films have taken a back-seat? “Right now, I want to focus on my TV show. I’m getting whatever I wanted to as an actor — work, appreciation, attention from fans. So, it doesn’t matter whether it’s film or TV.”
