Ever since a biopic was announced on badminton ace Saina Nehwal, it has been creating a lot of buzz. The film, starring actor Shraddha Kapoor, will chronicle the making of the sporting star. We have now learned that the biopic will also highlight Saina’s personal life, including her relationship with her parents, and spouse, badminton player Parupalli Kashyap.

Ask Saina about it and she shares, “Yes [the film] will show these things, too. It’s part of the script. But majorly, it [my biopic] focuses on my badminton and professional achievements.” After dating for over a decade, Saina and Kashyap tied the knot in December last year.

Much like her fans, Saina, too, is looking forward to the release of the film that took quite some time to take off. She has always maintained that she will be there for any support required for the project. Saina adds that she has met Shraddha and the director, Amole Gupte, quite a few times to work things out and their photos did rounds on social media as well.

Talking about social media, while Saina is pretty active on the platforms, she does admit that troll menace is something that she has gradually learned to deal with. On being asked if she thinks twice before posting anything on social media, Saina says, “I guess every individual is different. Everyone has the reedom to express hemselves in the way they ike to. So, it’s up to the ndividual on how he or she wants to project hemselves. Some topics are sensitive, o [I] make sure I am a ittle careful [about my posts].”

A celebrity’s life is always under the canner, more so because they are social nfluencers, is that too much of a worry for the huttler? Mention the Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul’s episode where he cricketers’ misogynist remarks on a TV chat show landed hem in trouble, and Saina shares that neither she nor her spouse got the chance to watch the show because they were busy with tournaments. However, on their part, they do follow certain rules when they appear in front of the public. “Yes, we are conscious of what we say [in public]. We know that our fans are watching us and following us constantly so we want to encourage them and set a good example,” she concludes.
