Sean Bean, Jennifer Jason Leigh team up for sci-fi thriller

Actors Sean Bean and Jennifer Jason Leigh are the latest additions to the cast of sci-fi thriller Possessor, along with Stacy Martin.

The trio is joining Mandy (2018) star Andrea Riseborough and Christopher Abbott, who was part of the 2018 film First Man, in Brandon Cronenburg’s second feature, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Film production is slated to start in April on location in Canada.

Leigh is known for films such as Single White Female (1992) and The Hateful Eight (2015) while Bean played Ned Stark in the hit TV series Game of Thrones.

Cronenberg will be directing from his own script, which follows Tasya Vos (played by Riseborough), an agent for a secret organisation that uses brain-implant technology to inhabit other people’s bodies, driving them to commit assassinations for the benefit of high-paying clients. However, something goes wrong on a routine job, and she soon finds herself trapped in the mind of an unwitting suspect (played by Abbott) whose appetite for violence turns out to rival her own.
