On Valentine’s Day, Deepika will watch her father receive an award
Deepika Padukone is likely to have a very special Valentine’s Day this year. While it will be her first V-Day with husband Ranveer Singh (the duo wed last November), and they plan to watch his latest film together, Deepika will also spend time with her father Prakash Padukone. The former ace shuttler will be given a lifetime achievement award by a magazine for his contribution to sports and the proud daughter wants to be present when he receives it.
“Her dad has always been there for all of Deepika’s life moments. Her hero is her dad, now it’s Deepika’s turn to witness a prestigious moment,” says a source.
Deepika, who followed in her father’s footsteps to become a former nationallevel badminton player before moving on to the glamour world, owes her love for sports to her father. But since she got busy with her acting career, she doesn’t get enough opportunities to play badminton with her dad or be with him. Now since her parents are in Mumbai for the award ceremony, she wants to live this moment, adds the source.
Deepika says, “It is a very special day for us and I am very excited to sit in the audience to see my dad receive the award for his achievements and contribution to Indian badminton.”
