I took acting lessons to become better: Arjun Kanungo

- Samarth Goyal

After making a name for himself as a singersongwriter, Arjun Kanungo is keen to become a “better” actor. “Acting has always been an interest. I studied acting to become a better actor,” he says. So far, Arjun has been involved in two projects as an actor — a feature film, Jalebi, which released last year, and Side Hero, a comedy show on an OTT platform, in which he plays the role of Gauahar Khan’s boyfriend.

“I had fun filming for Jalebi but acting for Side Hero was more fun. It was unbelievably fun to work with Kunaal Roy Kapoor and Gauahar Khan,” he says, adding he wishes to be part of more projects as an actor. “More work will perhaps define for me further how people see me as an actor,” he feels.

It might seem Arjun has put his music career on the backseat, as his recent single Tu Na Mera was released almost six months after his last song. But Arjun disagrees: “I released Aaya Na Tu in July last year. It’s been six months only because we were waiting for the absolute best time to release Tu Na Mera. It’s been ready since November but the timing with the label and release calendar wasn’t matching.
