Aditya Roy Kapur, who has completed 10 years in the business, is now raring to go, more than ever. After a two-year gap, the actor will be seen in three projects this year. Now, he not only promises to be active on social media, but also be part of more films. Though he says he is not much of a planner, the actor is content with his upcoming line up of movies — Kalank, Sadak 2 and an untitled Anurag Basu-helmed project. “I don’t actively seek out particular type of content. Of course, in my head, I know there are certain kinds of roles and genres that I want to experiment with,” says Aditya adding that the lure of a multistarrer was not the reason for him to sign Kalank. “That’s not the way it happened, Abhishek (Varman; director) felt I was right for the role and so did Karan (Johar). Abhishek has a really clear vision for a film, which I think will really translate on screen. Having said that, it was great working with him and all the other actors. All of us got along very well, and that makes the experience so much nicer,” says the Ok Jaanu (2017) actor.

Besides the multi-starrer, Aditya will be teaming with Alia Bhatt for Sadak 2 as well. The actor says that collaborating with the star has been an enriching experience. “It will be really nice to work together again. What’s interesting is that we will be attempting something which is in a very different space. And it is always nice when you are working with someone for the second or third time to have a chance to do something different in that equation,” says Aditya, who has mainly played characters belonging to an urban set-up and been part of modern-day love stories.

The actor adds that he is open to try dramatic roles, too. “This stage in my career still feels like my early days (laughs), even though I’ve been around for a while. I really want to push the boundaries. There is no reason to keep doing the same thing,” says Aditya.

It will be really nice to work with Alia again. We will be attempting something which is in a very different space. And it is always nice when you are working with someone for the second or third time to have a chance to do something different in that equation. ADITYA ROY KAPUR,
