Katrina Kaif has been in the film business for 16 years, a time span that not only changed her as a person but also altered her criteria of choosing films. The actor says she now chooses projects that make her more happy and at ease.

“You grow as a person, you start to mature. I’m not the same person I was when I signed Singh Is Kiing (2008), not the same person when I signed Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) and then, Baar Baar Dekho (2016),” she shares.

“Initially what drove me,” she continues, “was that I really wanted the love of the audience. I wanted to be known, I have said this many times before. I always wanted to be known in households, someone the families knew and liked. After some time, different things drive you and start coming to the front of your mind. I recently noticed that I was contemplating ‘what makes me more happy and at ease, from where do I go home happy at the end of the day’. The conclusion was ‘wherever I’m learning something new in my area of work’.”

Katrina was recently seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Zero, and is paired opposite Salman Khan in her upcoming film Bharat. While the actor recently told us that she wants to venture into production, she hints at how she’s “interested in learning more different aspects of the craft”.

“There are different ways in which people build their characters and go deeper into their work. I want to work with different people and do workshops, experiment with new things, taking a little bit from this person and that person. With my years of experience also, I am trying to get new tools to further myself as an actor,” Katrina adds.
