PATNA Why Pooja hates the phrase ‘settle down’
After having spent a decade with her friendturned-bae (actor) Raj Singh Arora, one question that actor Pooja Gor can’t get enough of is ‘When are you both getting married?’ Each year and at every occasion, she gets confronted about their relationship status and when are they going to take it the next level? “There are no plans of getting married because we’re still working on our respective careers. When people come up to me saying/asking that Raj and I have been together for more than 10 years now, so, why don’t we just settle down...I’d [tell them that I] don’t understand the need and compulsions for it. We both have a lot more to do before we tie the knot,” explains the 27-year-old, who confesses that she hates the phrase ‘settle
down’.
“I don’t want to settle, and set back in life. I have a lot of energy and goal and we are not ready for marriage right now,” quips the actor, who shares that both their “calm and chilled out attitude” has kept them going strong. And their love for talking about anything and everything under the sun has been the biggest contribution they both have brought to each other’s lives. “People in a relationship often lack communication and also bottle up things that create a lot of misunderstandings. We talk and sort things out. We are like adults and not at all child-like. We have the same sensibility and understanding, and we don’t make an issue out of things unnecessarily,” says the Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya actor.
The best part about all this, she says, is her parents’ uninterrupted love and support. “They don’t put the pressure of getting married [on either of us]. People who are important to us don’t have any problems. So, it really doesn’t matter to us what others are saying,” she signs off.
